And Were Off...

To see the Gators that is. We are flying out tomorrow morning to head to Knoxville to watch the Gators whoop up on the Vols. Well, hopefully anyways. I am always so excited to go up there. The atmosphere is great, although the fans can be very nasty. The Gator fans have to sit in the nosebleed section and I always feel like I am falling out of the stadium. Anyways, it will be an exciting SEC matchup. Here are a few pictures from our previous trips to Knoxville.

Hopefully the score will look similar to this tomorrow.

Our New Journey

As most of you already know, Jon and I will be expecting our first child in December. Brinley Nicole Othus is scheduled to arrive on December 6. Here is a little of our story:

Jon and I knew we wanted to have children fairly soon after we got married. So after much talk and prayer for the right time, we found out on March 31 that we were expecting.

We were so excited and just could not keep the good news to ourselves. I was at home by myself when I found out so I immediately called Jon and told him. I then told SaraBeth because she knew I was taking the test. I emailed her the picture of the positive tests and she said "You have to tell mom and dad tonight." So SaraBeth being the creative one of the family helped me put together a way to tell my parents they were going to be grandparents again. I put together a little easter basket for them and and wrote them a card that said "PaPa and Gamma, Please welcome our new little Easter Bunny." It took my mom a little bit to catch on, but then she realized she was going to have another grandchild and she threw her arms around me and was so excited. My dad said "well you didnt' wait very long did ya?" I was cracking up when he said this because I knew in my head that something like this was going to come out of his mouth. Of course he was excited for Jon and I. We then had to call Jon's parents and tell them and they were just beside themselves. They couldn't believe they were going to be grandparents. This will be their first.

We had our first ultrasound at 6 weeks and four days. We were able to see the heart beat here.

We had a second ultrasound at 9 weeks and four days. You can really see how much the baby has grown in three weeks.

As our journey continued, so did the nausea. I had afternoon and night nausea from week 9-14. I was so glad when that subsided. I was really able to enjoy being pregnant.

I was becoming so amazed at all the changes my body was going through to accommodate this little miracle growing inside of me. I was so excited to see a baby bump and watch it grow each week.

16 weeks

Baby at 16 weeks

At 19 weeks and 4 days we went int o find out what we were having. Jon and I went and our parents were in the waiting room. We were all so convinced we were having a little boy, so when we found out it was a girl we were so excited! My mom was excited because she had three girls of her own, so she knows what to do with girls. I think Jon's parents were excited and nervous at the same time because they don't have any girls in their family.

22 weeks

25 weeks

I am now at 28 weeks and on the countdown. My bump seems like it grows everyday. I cannot wait to meet our precious little angel.
